Television Broadcast

Broadcast

Return to Computer Lab

Each morning we broadcast our announcements.  Our school is connected in each classroom to Cable TV and Satellite.

This program is for outstanding fourth and fifth graders.  The students must have a recommendation from their teacher and maintain a “B” average and no grade lower than a “C”.

The students connect and run 2 cameras, one computer, to a video switch to change to the different cameras and computer to broadcast.  They also connect three microphones to an audio switch with volume controls to allow one or more positions to speak on air.  The students run the entire show from being the director to being the camera operators, anchors, weather, computer operator, and switcher.

The students also tape our Court Points program at the end of each six weeks.  After taping the program they edit the video using Video Wave.  They create a video with the introduction of all students shooting and those students who made the baskets and then the introduction of the individuals who made the baskets.  They also put text on the video and put transitions between each of the video clips they cut out.

They also video tape other programs and events at the school.

These students do all aspects of Television Production.  The different positions available are listed below:
Director

Anchors - 2 Weather Computer Operator
Switcher Camera Operators - 2 Sound  Text Editor

As a student at Key Elementary School, I pledge to do my best to be courteous and cooperative; to treat both adults and students with respect; to accept people who are different from me; and, to be a friend to all my schoolmates.  I will not bully, tease, or call people names.  I will remember to follow the “Golden Rule” and treat others the way I want to be treated.

I pledge these things because I am a SPECIAL KEY KID and I want my school, my parents, and my community to be proud of me.  I know that by following this creed, I will also be proud of myself.
